For me, this room is about much more than having somewhere to make art. The mountains have been a place of inspiration, restoration, and creative discovery for many years, and I wanted to create a space where I could slow down, photograph, experiment, and allow new ideas to take shape. I'll share the process of creating the room, the choices I made along the way, and what I hope this space will become. And this is only the beginning. In May 2027, I'll be opening this space as part of my Tangled Up in Beauty immersive fine art photography retreat in the Appalachian Mountains, where I'll share my process of photographing portraits, gathering imagery from nature, creating composite artwork in Photoshop, and making one-of-a-kind pigment transfer prints on Mulberry paper.
