The November/December 2024 issue of Shadow & Light Magazine is finally finalized. Our cover artist, Erika Masterson (image), has shot up in the charts like a rocket. She never ceases to amaze me with her dedication and compelling vision. Nicola Hackl-Haslinger, Lev Spiro, Linda Sbath, and Jane Ivory round out our Showcase Portfolios. We will also have a full slate of Single Image Showcase contributors: Bob Stevens, Debbie Cain, Mara Zaslove, John Custodio, Maria Zendejas, Lori Pond, Mike Allan, Meredith Mullins, Kaisa Sirén, Karen Numme, Joyce Lopez, Robin Bell, Mason Bryan, Wendy Kappy, Van Pulley, and Tayo Basquait. Both Steve Immel and Eric McCollum will be included with their unique take on personal photographic pursuits.We'll also have a review of a new release by Eric Meola, "Bending Light."
Shadow & Light Magazine’s primary objective is to introduce new voices in photography by featuring them in a nationally distributed fine art photography magazine.
In publishing a wide range of fine art photography, Shadow & Light Magazine will seek to publish those photographic artists who strive to formulate creative ideas and translate them into work that captures and ignites human imagination. Experience, education, and age are not determinates in recognizing quality art.
Shadow & Light Magazine will also feature established artists who reflect the magazine’s goal of eliciting an emotional response from the viewer and who provide inspirational examples of imaginative and innovative work.
Not only does Shadow & Light Magazine seek to engage the reader visually but intellectually as well with informative articles, critical insight, and compelling interviews. It is available in both PDF or printed copy.

Erika Masterson is a Fine Art Photographer, living her dream between two worlds, a lakeside cabin tucked in the Southern Appalachian mountains and a quiet beach town on Florida’s east coast.Erika and her husband Ed have 4 children and one granddaughter. Her children are often seen in her artistic works.
She received her degree in photography from the Southeastern Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1990. In 1999 opened her own commercial portrait business and has been working the past 20+ years in California and Florida.
In 2012 Erika expanded her Art including many exhibits and awards. Her most recent accolades; Solo Exhibition Soho Gallery New York; the Co-Jurors Choice award by Joyce Tenneson under the theme “The Intimate Portrait”; She was chosen as a Julia Margaret Cameron finalist for her series “A Message for my Daughter” and was selected as Black and White Magazine’s Portfolio Spotlight winner for her series Sara’s Sojourn.
Her quiet and soulful images have been published in numerous magazines such as Black and White Magazine 2014 & 2017, Victoria Magazine 2000 & 2016, Silvershotz Magazine, Shots Magazine, 5×5 Magazine, Bella Grace Magazine, Raine, Shadow & Light and In-Style Magazine. Erika recently has her images being sold around the world and on greeting cards with Palm Press and book covers. She has also self-published 4 books with her series of work.
