There’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time…
And now, it’s becoming real.
In May 2027, I’m opening the doors to my little ArtRoom in the Appalachian Mountains for something very close to my heart:
Tangled Up in Beauty
An Immersive Fine Art Photography Retreat
This retreat grew out of my Tangled Up in Beauty series—a body of work where I bring soulful portraiture and the beauty of nature together to create something that feels almost like a visual prayer.
I’ve always felt that nature doesn’t hide us.
It reveals us.
And next May, I want to share the process of creating this work with a small group of artists in the mountains.
We’ll photograph together, explore the surrounding nature, create soulful portraits, work with Photoshop to blend portrait and landscape, and I’ll also share my pigment transfer process onto Mulberry paper.
But I don't want this to be only about learning a process.
I want it to be about slowing down.
Seeing differently.
Getting outside.
Creating together.
And allowing beauty to surprise us.
I’ve just created a new film that takes you into this world and gives you a glimpse of what I’m dreaming about.
